Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm Privacy Policy

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm stores your medications, schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements and appointments only on your device, in a SQLCipher-encrypted (AES-256) database — none of it is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. There is no account, no server and no cloud backup. The app is free and shows one banner ad served by Google AdMob; the ad SDK never receives your health data.

Introduction

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is a free, ad-supported medication reminder and adherence tracker that keeps your health data on your device. It is developed and maintained by Prachi, an independent developer, who you can reach any time at support@elevatedev.co.in.

This privacy policy took effect on the "last updated" date shown above (August 27, 2026). It explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, how that data is used, and — just as importantly — what the app does not do.

The short version: your health data — medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements, appointments and your profile — is created and stored only on your device, in a SQLCipher-encrypted database, and this app has no server to send it to. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is free and shows one banner ad served by Google AdMob; requesting and measuring that ad sends Google an advertising identifier and standard ad-request data, and nothing about your medications, schedules, doses, measurements or appointments — the ad SDK never receives your health data.

Data We Collect

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm has no user accounts, no cloud database and no server operated by the developer, so ElevateDev.co has no technical means to see, access or recover your health data. Everything you enter — medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements, appointments and your profile — is created and stored on your device, in a SQLCipher-encrypted (AES-256) database.

Medication and health information is special category data under Article 9 of the GDPR. This app is built so that category of data never reaches ElevateDev.co: it is entered, stored and read entirely on your device, and the app has no network path that transmits it anywhere. See "Health Data & GDPR Article 9" below.

One kind of data leaves your device automatically: the advertising identifier and standard ad-request data that the Google AdMob SDK sends to Google to serve and measure the banner ad — see "Advertising (Google AdMob)" below. That data never includes your health data, and the AdMob SDK has no access to your medications, schedules, dose logs, measurements or appointments.

You can also share a plain-text medication list or family update through Android's share sheet. This is created only when you ask, and the app does not send it anywhere itself — you choose the recipient app or contact.

Data We Access & Store on Your Device

To do its job, Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm stores the following information locally, in the app's private storage on your device. This data stays on the device ONLY — the app has no server to upload it to:

  • Medication details you enter: name, form, strength, dosage, notes, an optional photo, doctor, pharmacy, prescription number and expiry.
  • Dosing schedules, dose logs (taken, skipped or missed), refill state, health measurements and doctor appointments you enter.
  • The profile name(s) you create — your own, and optionally one for each other person whose medications you track on this device.
  • Reminder, quiet-hours, appearance and app-lock preferences.
  • An automatic, encrypted, on-device recovery snapshot the app uses to restore your data on this device if the Android Keystore ever loses the database's encryption key — see Data Security. It is cleared whenever you use "Delete all data" or clear the app's storage, and it is never transmitted anywhere.
  • Everything above lives in a SQLCipher-encrypted (AES-256) database in the app's private storage.

Data Categories (Google Play Data Safety)

In the categories used by Google Play's Data Safety section, the information Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm handles falls under:

  • Health information — medications (name, form, strength, dosage, notes, an optional photo, doctor, pharmacy, prescription number and expiry), dosing schedules, dose logs (taken, skipped or missed), refill state, health measurements (weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, temperature, oxygen, mood, pain) and doctor appointments — stored on-device only.
  • Photos — an optional photo you attach to a medication, picked through the system photo picker — stored on-device only.
  • Personal information — the profile name(s) you enter for yourself and, optionally, for anyone else whose medications you track on this device — stored on-device only.
  • App activity & settings — reminder, quiet-hours, appearance and app-lock preferences — stored on-device only.
  • Device or other IDs — the Android Advertising ID, processed by Google AdMob solely to serve and measure the banner ad, as described under Advertising (Google AdMob).
  • Your health data (medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements, appointments and profile) is stored on-device only and is never "collected" or "shared" with the developer in the Play Data Safety sense. The advertising category is collected and processed by Google AdMob solely to serve and measure the banner ad, and never includes your health data.

How Your Data Is Used

The data above is used only inside the app, on your device, to provide the features you asked for. It is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, "improving our services" or any purpose beyond these:

  • To remind you to take a medication at the time you set, and to alert you before an appointment or when a refill is running low — computed and delivered entirely on your device.
  • To record your dose history (taken, skipped or missed) and show adherence statistics, streaks and patterns, computed on your device.
  • To chart the health measurements you log (weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, temperature, oxygen, mood, pain), on your device.
  • To build the plain-text medication list or family update you choose to share through Android's share sheet.
  • To encrypt your database on-device with SQLCipher and, if you turn it on, to lock the app behind your device's fingerprint, face or screen-lock check.
  • To request and display the single banner ad that funds the app, via Google AdMob.

Data Sharing & Selling

ElevateDev.co does not share, sell, rent or trade your health data. It cannot: your medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements and appointments never reach the developer, so there is nothing to share.

Two things leave the app. The advertising identifier and ad-request data that the Google AdMob SDK sends to Google, described in full under "Advertising (Google AdMob)" — this never includes your health data. And a plain-text medication list or family update, if you choose to share one through Android's share sheet — sent only to the recipient app or contact you pick. What that recipient does with it next is governed by its own policy, not by ElevateDev.co.

Third-Party Services

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm integrates one third-party service: Google AdMob, which serves the single banner ad described under "Advertising (Google AdMob)". There are no other third-party services — no analytics providers, no cloud databases, no cloud backup and no other SDK that receives data from the app.

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm has no in-app purchase of any kind. No Google Play Billing code exists in the app, no purchase screen is reachable anywhere in it, and no payment is ever processed or stored by anyone.

If you install the app from Google Play, Google's own terms and privacy policy govern the store itself (downloads, payments and reviews), independently of this app.

Permissions & Why We Ask

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm may request the following Android permissions, and only for the reasons stated. Denying an optional permission never locks you out of the rest of the app:

  • Notifications — to deliver your medication, refill and appointment reminders.
  • Exact alarms — so reminders fire at the exact time you set, not whenever the system gets around to it.
  • Run at startup — to re-register your reminders after the device reboots. No data is involved.
  • Foreground service — runs a short-lived alarm-sound playback service, capped at about a minute, for a reminder you set to play an alarm-style sound. No data is involved.
  • Keep device awake (wake lock) — keeps the device awake for that same short alarm-sound playback so it isn't cut off.
  • Vibration — so a reminder notification can vibrate.
  • Biometrics (optional) — for the optional app lock, which you switch on in Settings. Android verifies your fingerprint or face itself — the app never sees biometric data.
  • Internet — used only to request and measure the banner ad from Google AdMob, described under Advertising (Google AdMob). The app has no server to send your health data to, so none is transmitted.
  • Network state — lets the app check whether the device is online before requesting an ad.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID) — used by the Google AdMob SDK to request, and where you consent personalise, and measure the banner ad. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of personalised ads, at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Analytics, Advertising & Tracking

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting services that upload data, and no third-party tracker other than Google AdMob, the single advertising SDK it discloses — see Advertising (Google AdMob) below. The app does not profile you, fingerprint your device, or measure your behaviour, and your health data — medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements and appointments — is never shared with AdMob and never used to target ads.

The app is free and shows one banner ad served by Google AdMob. The Advertising (Google AdMob) section below states exactly what data that involves, every time an ad is requested.

Data Security

Your health data is held in Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm's private app storage, which Android sandboxes from every other app on the device, and the database itself is additionally encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256), with the encryption key held in the Android Keystore. Your health data is never synced to any server, so there is no developer-side copy to breach. The only data this app sends over the network is the advertising data described under "Advertising (Google AdMob)", which travels to Google over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and never includes your medications, schedules, dose logs, measurements or appointments.

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm additionally encrypts its entire database on-device with SQLCipher (AES-256), with the encryption key held in the Android Keystore.

The app also keeps one further on-device copy: an encrypted automatic recovery snapshot, used only to restore your data on this device if the Android Keystore ever loses the database's encryption key. That snapshot is never transmitted anywhere and is cleared whenever you use "Delete all data" or clear the app's storage.

The optional app lock checks your fingerprint, face or screen-lock through Android's own biometric system — the app receives only a yes/no result and never sees your biometric data.

We do not claim a specific security certification such as ISO 27001, and we do not run a formal penetration-testing or third-party security-audit programme.

For an extra layer of protection we recommend using your device's screen lock (PIN, pattern or biometrics), which also protects everything inside the app, and keeping Android's full-disk encryption enabled (it is on by default on modern devices).

Backups

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm has no cloud backup of any kind: it does not upload your data anywhere.

The app is also excluded from Android's own automatic device backup (its manifest sets android:allowBackup to false), so no system-level backup of your health data exists either. Your health data lives only in the app's private storage on this device, for as long as you keep it there.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your health data is retained on your device only for as long as you choose to keep it. There is no server-side copy, so there is nothing for the developer to retain, expire or delete on any timetable — deleting it on your device is the only deletion event there is.

Deleting your data is entirely in your hands, at any time and without asking anyone:

  • Delete individual medications, doses, appointments or measurements inside the app whenever you like.
  • Use "Delete all data" in Settings, or clear the app's data from Android Settings → Apps → Pill Reminder → Storage — both wipe everything the app stored on your device, including the automatic recovery snapshot described under Data Security.
  • Uninstall the app — everything it stored in private storage is removed from the device along with it.
  • Data processed by Google AdMob is held by Google under Google's own privacy policy; you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Children's Privacy

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is not directed at children under 13, and ElevateDev.co does not knowingly collect personal data from a child through the app — no health data reaches the developer from any user, child or adult. The app has no chat, no social features and no user-to-user content.

The app supports more than one profile on the same device, so a parent or guardian may use it to track a child's medications alongside their own, and a teenager may use it to track their own. Whoever's medication and health information you enter, it is stored on your device exactly the same way and is never transmitted to ElevateDev.co, regardless of whose profile it is filed under.

European Economic Area: under Article 8 GDPR, the age at which a person can give their own consent to an information-society service, rather than needing a parent or guardian to consent, is set by each EU member state and ranges from 13 to 16. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm does not rely on the app user's consent for anything except the advertising choices described under "Advertising Consent & Choices", so this state-by-state variation does not change how the app is built or operated.

United Kingdom: the age of consent for online services is 13. The app's design is also consistent with the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code): it collects no more data than the ad SDK needs to function, builds no profile of any user by default, and shows the same consent and ad-privacy controls to every user who has not consented to personalised ads, regardless of age.

United States: Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is a general-audience medication-reminder app. Its subject matter, content and marketing are not directed at children, and ElevateDev.co does not have actual knowledge that any user is a child under 13. Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), that combination means the app is not treated as "child-directed," so COPPA's parental-consent requirement for collecting a child's personal information does not apply to it. Separately, the app collects no personal information from any user in the first place — health data included — because it never reaches the developer.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has used the app, deleting entries, using "Delete all data," or uninstalling the app removes everything it holds on the device, and resetting the Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads severs the advertising identifier tied to that device.

Your Rights

Privacy laws around the world — the GDPR and UK GDPR, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, India's DPDP Act and others — give you rights over your personal data. For your health data the answer is simple, because it never leaves your device and ElevateDev.co never receives it. For the advertising data Google collects, the rights below apply in the ordinary way.

  • Access (GDPR Art. 15) — open the app; every medication, dose, measurement and appointment it holds is visible there, on your device. We hold none of it to give you.
  • Correction (GDPR Art. 16) — edit or replace any entry directly in the app.
  • Erasure (GDPR Art. 17) — delete entries in the app, use "Delete all data", clear the app's data, or uninstall. For advertising data held by Google, reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Portability (GDPR Art. 20) — your health data is created and held on your device, never by us, so you already hold it yourself, in a form you control; email us if you need help exercising this right in a specific way.
  • Restriction of processing (GDPR Art. 18) — email us and we will act on any request about the advertising data described in this policy.
  • Objection (GDPR Art. 21) — the app shows personalised ads where you consent, and personalised advertising is profiling under the GDPR. You have an unconditional right to object to it: decline or withdraw consent from "Ad privacy choices" in Settings, or turn on "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" in Android Settings. This means non-personalised ads instead of no ads, since there is no ad-free option today.
  • Withdraw consent (GDPR Art. 7(3)) — where advertising relies on your consent, withdraw it at any time from "Ad privacy choices" in Settings, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
  • Rights related to automated decision-making (GDPR Art. 22) — the app makes no decision about you that produces legal or similarly significant effects; ad selection is not this kind of decision.
  • Complaint (GDPR Art. 77) — see "How Do I Lodge a Complaint?" below.

Who Is the Data Controller?

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is developed by Prachi and published by ElevateDev.co, and is distributed on Google Play under the Android package com.vishwk.medicine_reminder.

For the advertising data this app involves, ElevateDev.co is the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and the Data Fiduciary within the meaning of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising data its SDK collects. The app has no in-app purchase, so no payment processor is involved.

ElevateDev.co is not a processor of your health data either: a processor handles personal data on a controller's behalf, and your health data is never sent to us to handle in the first place.

You can reach us about anything in this policy — including a request to exercise your rights, or a grievance — by email at support@elevatedev.co.in. We answer privacy requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Health Data & GDPR Article 9

Medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements and appointments are special category data under Article 9(1) GDPR, which prohibits processing health data unless a specific exception in Article 9(2) applies. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is built so that this data is created, stored and read only on your device: it is never transmitted to ElevateDev.co, never shared with the Google AdMob SDK, and never used to target an ad.

The app is an organisational tool for medications, schedules and health measurements. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations; follow your doctor's or pharmacist's guidance for anything about your health.

Do We Use Your Health Data to Train AI?

No. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm contains no AI model and no machine-learning model of any kind. Your health data is never used to train any model, by ElevateDev.co or by any third party, because it never leaves your device — this is a structural fact, not a promise: the app has no server and no cloud backup for that data to reach. The one thing that does leave your device is the advertising data described under Advertising (Google AdMob), and it never includes your health data.

If a future version ever added an AI feature that required sending data to a server, it would be off by default, need your explicit, separate consent to turn on, and this policy would be updated first, with a new date, before that version shipped.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm shows one banner ad, served by Google AdMob, to fund the app. The AdMob SDK never receives your medications, dosing schedules, dose logs, refill state, health measurements or appointments — the app does not give it access to your health data, and there is no code path through which it could reach the SDK.

To request and measure that banner ad, the AdMob SDK collects the following from your device and sends it to Google:

  • Your Android Advertising ID — an identifier you can reset or delete at any time.
  • Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, mobile network information and IP address.
  • Coarse, IP-derived location, included in the standard ad-request data above. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm itself does not request any location permission.
  • Ad-interaction data: which ad was shown and whether you viewed or tapped it — used for measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • Whether the ad shown to you is personalised depends on your consent choice: where you consent, Google selects the ad based on interests inferred from your activity across apps and sites; where you do not, the ad is selected only from context such as the current app and your approximate location. Either way, the Advertising ID is still used for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • You can opt out of ad personalisation, and reset or delete your Advertising ID, at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • How Google uses this data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), in Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and in the Google AdMob and Google Ads policies (support.google.com/admob).

Where Is My Data Transferred?

Your health data is never transferred anywhere: the app has no server and no cloud backup. The only data that crosses a border is the advertising data described under Advertising (Google AdMob), which Google's ad service sends to Google and processes on Google's servers, including in the United States.

For transfers out of the EEA, Google is a certified participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; for transfers out of the UK, Google relies on the UK Extension to that framework; for transfers out of Switzerland, the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies. Where a transfer falls outside those frameworks, Google relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The safeguards Google applies are set out in Google's own privacy policy and its data transfer documentation at business.safety.google.

How Do I Lodge a Complaint?

If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, please contact us first at support@elevatedev.co.in — we would rather fix a problem than have you go elsewhere with it.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, and you do not need our agreement to do so. In the EEA this is the authority in the country where you live, work, or where you believe the infringement occurred; the full list is published at edpb.europa.eu. In the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In Switzerland it is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner at edoeb.admin.ch.

A supervisory-authority complaint is not your only option. Under GDPR Article 79 (and the equivalent UK GDPR provision) you may instead, or in addition, bring your claim directly before a competent court.

United States Privacy Rights (Consumer Health Data & State Privacy Laws)

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is used across the United States, where several states now single out health-related personal data for extra protection on top of general consumer-privacy law. This section explains how those laws apply to an app that keeps your health data on your device and never sells or shares it.

California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA): health information is "sensitive personal information" under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.140(ae). The personal information this app is actually involved with is the advertising identifier and ad-request data described under Advertising (Google AdMob) — your health data is not personal information we collect, because we never receive it. Showing you a personalised ad counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA, even though no money changes hands; the app does not sell personal information for money. You have the right to know, delete, correct, limit use of sensitive personal information, and opt out of that sharing — decline personalised ads in the consent prompt, or reset your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373), in force since March 31, 2024, defines "consumer health data" broadly and requires a regulated entity to obtain consumer consent before collecting or sharing it beyond what is necessary to provide a product the consumer requested, and written authorization before selling it. The only consumer health data this app collects is what you type in to use the reminder and tracking features you asked for — covered by that necessity exception — and the app does not share or sell consumer health data to anyone, because it never leaves your device. The app has no location feature, so the Act's geofencing restriction around health-care locations does not apply to it.

Nevada's SB 370 (in force since March 31, 2024) similarly requires prior consent before a regulated entity collects, shares or sells a consumer's health data. As with Washington, the only consumer health data this app collects is what you enter to use the features you requested, and the app does not share or sell it, because it never leaves your device.

Most other US states have now enacted a comprehensive consumer privacy law granting rights to know, access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of the personal data a business holds about you, and to opt out of targeted advertising and of "sale" or "sharing." Because your health data never reaches the developer and is never sold or shared, the personal data these laws reach in this app is the advertising identifier and ad-request data described under Advertising (Google AdMob). Exercise these rights by declining or withdrawing ad consent from "Ad privacy choices" in Settings, or resetting your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

To exercise any right on this page, or to ask a question about how a specific state law applies, email us at support@elevatedev.co.in. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

App Names in Other Languages

On Google Play this app's store listing is localized, so the name you see depends on your device language. Every listing below describes the SAME single app -- Android package com.vishwk.medicine_reminder, published by elevatedevco -- and this privacy policy applies to all of them, in every language and country.

The name on your home screen after installing is Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm in every language; only the Play Store listing name is translated. If the store name differed from the one on your device, that is why.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date, which is also the date the changes take effect. If a future version enables cloud backup, or any other feature that transmits health data off your device, this policy will describe exactly what changed here, with a new date, before that version ships.

The core fact stays the same until it is disclosed otherwise here: your health data is created and stored on your device only, in a SQLCipher-encrypted database, and this app has no server to send it to.

No Warranty & Your Own Checks

This policy explains how Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm handles data. It is not a warranty about the app itself, and it does not make Prachi responsible for how you use it.

Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Prachi is not liable for any loss you may suffer through using it — including lost data, missed reminders, lost profits or decisions you make based on what the app shows you — to the maximum extent applicable law allows. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Please check the app's output before you act on it. Medicine Reminder & Pill Alarm organises what you enter; it does not verify that what you entered is correct, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make. The full terms, including the complete limitation of liability, are at https://elevatedev.co.in/terms.
