Introduction
Marigold is a private, offline period and cycle tracker. It is developed and maintained by Prachi, an independent developer, who you can reach any time at support@elevatedev.co.in.
This privacy policy took effect on the "last updated" date shown above (July 8, 2026). It explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, how that data is used, and — just as importantly — what the app does not do.
The short version: Marigold does not collect, transmit, sell or share your personal data. Everything you enter into the app is stored only on your device and never leaves it through the app.
Data We Collect
None. Marigold has no user accounts, no sign-in, no cloud database and no server operated by the developer. Nothing you enter is transmitted off your device by the app, and Prachi has no technical means to see, access or recover anything you store in it.
Data We Access & Store on Your Device
To do its job, Marigold stores the following information locally, in the app's private storage on your device. This data stays on the device ONLY — it is never uploaded, transmitted, sold or shared:
- Cycle dates, period logs, symptoms, moods and notes you record.
- Derived statistics such as average cycle length and predictions, computed on-device.
- In-app preferences (theme, reminder settings).
Data Categories (Google Play Data Safety)
In the categories used by Google Play's Data Safety section, the information Marigold handles falls under:
- Health & fitness information (cycle dates, symptoms, moods).
- App activity & settings (reminder and theme preferences).
- None of these categories is "collected" or "shared" in the Play Data Safety sense: the data is processed ephemerally or stored on-device only, and never leaves your device through the app.
How Your Data Is Used
The data above is used only inside the app, on your device, to provide the features you asked for. It is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, "improving our services" or any purpose beyond these:
- To predict your cycle, period and fertile window, computed on your device.
- To show your cycle history and statistics.
- To send optional cycle reminders, only if you enable them.
Data Sharing & Selling
Prachi does not share, sell, rent, trade or disclose any of your data to third parties — for advertising, analytics, "partners" or anything else. There is nothing to share: no data ever reaches the developer in the first place.
The only way information leaves Marigold is when you explicitly export or share something yourself (for example, a file you generate and choose to send). Anything you share is transferred by the app you share it to, under that app's policies. User-initiated export or backup is the only path by which data can leave the app.
Third-Party Services
Marigold does not integrate third-party services that receive your personal data — no analytics providers, no advertising networks, no cloud databases.
In-app purchases, if any: if Marigold offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade (or any other in-app purchase), the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing, Google's own payment system. Prachi never receives your card or payment details — Google Play only confirms to the app that a purchase succeeded. Google's privacy policy governs payment processing. There are no subscriptions, and your data is never behind a paywall.
If you install the app from Google Play, Google's own terms and privacy policy govern the store itself (downloads, payments and reviews), independently of this app.
Permissions & Why We Ask
Marigold may request the following Android permissions, and only for the reasons stated. Denying an optional permission never locks you out of the rest of the app:
- Notifications (optional) — only if you enable period or fertile-window reminders. You can use the entire app without notifications.
Analytics, Advertising & Tracking
Marigold contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services that upload data, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We do not profile you, fingerprint your device, or measure your behaviour.
The app does not show ads and does not request, collect or use the Android Advertising ID. If a future version were ever to introduce advertising or use the Advertising ID (we have no plans to), this policy would be updated here, with a new date, before that version shipped.
Data Security
Your data is held in Marigold's private app storage, which Android sandboxes from every other app on the device. Because the app transmits nothing, there is no data in transit to intercept and no server-side copy to breach — the most common ways apps leak data simply do not exist here.
For an extra layer of protection we recommend using your device's screen lock (PIN, pattern or biometrics), which also protects everything inside the app, and keeping Android's full-disk encryption enabled (it is on by default on modern devices).
Backups & Exports
Any backup or export features in Marigold produce files that you control. They are created only when you ask, written only where you choose, and are never uploaded by the developer. If you copy an export to a cloud drive, that storage provider's policy applies to the copy you made. This user-initiated path is the only way your data can leave the device.
Standard Android device backups (if you have them enabled in system settings) are managed by Android and your device manufacturer under Google's terms, not by Prachi.
Data Retention & Deletion
Data is retained on your device only for as long as you choose to keep it — there is no server-side copy, so there is nothing the developer retains, and no retention schedule other than the one you set by keeping or deleting your own data.
Deleting your data is entirely in your hands, at any time and without asking anyone:
- Delete individual entries inside the app whenever you like.
- Clear the app's data from Android Settings → Apps → Marigold → Storage, which wipes everything the app stored.
- Uninstall the app — everything it stored in private storage is removed from the device along with it.
- There is no server-side copy anywhere, so there is nothing to request deletion of — deletion on your device is complete and final.
Children's Privacy
Marigold is not directed at children under 13, and Prachi does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children — because the app collects no data at all. It has no chat, no social features and no advertising. If you believe a child has used the app, simply deleting the app's data or uninstalling it removes everything, as nothing ever left the device.
Your Rights
Privacy laws around the world (such as the GDPR and CCPA) give you rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability and objection to processing. Marigold satisfies these by design, because you are the only person who holds the data:
- Access — open the app; everything it knows about you is visible there, on your device.
- Correction — edit or update any entry directly in the app.
- Deletion — delete entries in-app, clear the app's data, or uninstall (see "Data Retention & Deletion").
- Portability / export — where the app offers export or report features, the files produced are yours, in ordinary formats, stored where you choose.
- Nothing to object to — there is no profiling, no automated decision-making and no marketing to opt out of. If you still have a question about your rights, email support@elevatedev.co.in.
A Note on Reproductive Health Data
Cycle data deserves the strongest protection available. Marigold's answer is architectural: there is no account, no cloud sync by default and no server, so there is no external copy of your data to be breached, sold or demanded from us. We could not hand over your data even if asked — we simply do not have it.
Predictions are informational estimates based on your own history and are not a medical device or a contraceptive method.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date, which is also the date the changes take effect. Material changes (for example, if a future version added an optional online feature) will be described here before that version ships. The fundamental promise will never change retroactively: data you stored under a no-collection policy will never be silently collected later.
No Warranty & Your Own Checks
This policy explains how Marigold handles data. It is not a warranty about the app itself, and it does not make Prachi responsible for how you use it.
Marigold is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Prachi is not liable for any loss you may suffer through using it — including lost data, missed reminders, lost profits or decisions you make based on what the app shows you — to the maximum extent applicable law allows. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please check the app's output before you act on it. Marigold organises what you enter; it does not verify that what you entered is correct, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make. The full terms, including the complete limitation of liability, are at https://elevatedev.co.in/terms.
