Introduction

HabitWin: Build Habits ("HabitWin") is a private, gently gamified habit tracker. It is developed and maintained by Prachi, an independent developer, who you can reach any time at support@elevatedev.co.in.

This privacy policy took effect on the "last updated" date shown above (July 11, 2026). It explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, how that data is used, and — just as importantly — what the app does not do.

The short version: your personal habit data — habits, check-offs, streaks, moods, journal notes, XP, gold and badges — is stored on your device and is never sent to us. There is no account and no server operated by the developer. HabitWin does, however, include optional features that use the internet when you use them: a strictly opt-in encrypted backup to your own Google Drive, and banner ads served by Google AdMob that you can turn off in Settings. The app therefore requires internet access for those two features, and this policy explains exactly what each of them does.

Data We Collect

HabitWin has no user accounts, no sign-in, no cloud database and no server operated by the developer, so Prachi has no technical means to see, access or recover your personal habit data. Everything you enter — habits, check-offs, streaks, moods, journal notes, XP, gold and badges — stays on your device.

Only two kinds of data ever leave your device, and both are described in full in their own sections below: (a) an encrypted backup file that you explicitly choose to upload to your own Google Drive (see "Optional Encrypted Backups"), and (b) technical advertising data that the Google AdMob SDK collects in order to serve and measure banner ads while ads are enabled (see "Advertising (Google AdMob)").

Data We Access & Store on Your Device

To do its job, HabitWin stores the following information locally, in the app's private storage on your device. This data stays on the device ONLY — it is never uploaded, transmitted, sold or shared:

  • The habits you create — positive or negative — with their schedules, difficulty tiers, categories and time-of-day groups.
  • Check-offs, streaks, milestones, freeze tokens and completion history, computed on-device.
  • Optional moods and journal notes you attach to check-offs.
  • XP, gold, levels, badges, quest progress, Lumen companion state and in-app preferences.

Data Categories (Google Play Data Safety)

In the categories used by Google Play's Data Safety section, the information HabitWin handles falls under:

  • Health & wellbeing information (the habits you track, check-offs, optional moods and notes) — stored on-device only.
  • App activity & settings (streaks, XP, gold, badges, companion state, preferences) — stored on-device only.
  • Device or other IDs (the Android Advertising ID) and coarse location — processed by Google AdMob solely to serve and measure ads, only while ads are enabled, as described in the Advertising section.
  • Your habit data (the first two categories) is stored on-device only and is never "collected" or "shared" with the developer in the Play Data Safety sense. The advertising category is collected and processed by Google AdMob only for advertising purposes and only while ads are enabled, and a backup exists only if you choose to create one — encrypted, in your own Google Drive or as a local file.

How Your Data Is Used

The data above is used only inside the app, on your device, to provide the features you asked for. It is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, "improving our services" or any purpose beyond these:

  • To track your habits, streaks, milestones and completion history on your device.
  • To power XP, gold, levels, badges, quests and your Lumen companion.
  • To compute insights, stats, heatmaps and your weekly recap, entirely on-device.
  • To send optional habit reminders, only if you enable them.

Data Sharing & Selling

Prachi does not share, sell, rent, trade or disclose your habit data to third parties — for advertising, analytics, "partners" or anything else. There is nothing to share: your habit data never reaches the developer in the first place, and it is never shared with the advertising SDK or used to target ads.

Information can leave HabitWin in exactly three ways, all under your control or fully disclosed here: when you explicitly export or share something yourself (transferred by the app you share it to, under that app's policies); when you run the optional encrypted backup to your own Google Drive; and when the Google AdMob SDK processes advertising data as described in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section — which you can stop entirely by turning ads off in Settings. Nothing else is transmitted.

Third-Party Services

HabitWin integrates exactly two third-party services, both from Google and both described in their own sections below: Google Drive (only if you enable the optional encrypted backup) and Google AdMob (banner ads, which you can turn off in Settings). There are no other third-party services — no analytics providers, no cloud databases and no other SDKs that receive data from the app.

In-app purchases, if any: if HabitWin offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade (or any other in-app purchase), the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing, Google's own payment system. Prachi never receives your card or payment details — Google Play only confirms to the app that a purchase succeeded. Google's privacy policy governs payment processing. There are no subscriptions, and your data is never behind a paywall.

If you install the app from Google Play, Google's own terms and privacy policy govern the store itself (downloads, payments and reviews), independently of this app.

Permissions & Why We Ask

HabitWin may request the following Android permissions, and only for the reasons stated. Denying an optional permission never locks you out of the rest of the app:

  • Notifications (optional) — only if you enable habit reminders. You can use the entire app without notifications.
  • Internet — used only for the two features described in this policy: uploading an encrypted backup to your own Google Drive when you ask, and requesting banner ads from Google AdMob while ads are enabled (you can turn ads off in Settings). Your habit data is never transmitted to the developer.

Analytics, Advertising & Tracking

HabitWin contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting services that upload data, and no third-party trackers other than the single advertising SDK it discloses: Google AdMob, covered in detail in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section below. We do not profile you ourselves, and your habit data — what you track, your moods, your journal — is never used for advertising or shared with the ad SDK.

You are in control of advertising: banner ads can be turned off in the app's Settings. While ads are off, no ad requests are made; whenever ads run, everything in the Advertising section applies in full.

Data Security

Your data is held in HabitWin's private app storage, which Android sandboxes from every other app on the device. Your habit data is never synced to any server of ours, so there is no developer-side copy to breach. Backups are encrypted before they leave the app: the local backup file is protected by a passphrase you choose, and the optional Google Drive backup is encrypted and travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to your own Google Drive. Advertising requests, while ads are enabled, are likewise made over encrypted connections by Google's SDK.

For an extra layer of protection we recommend using your device's screen lock (PIN, pattern or biometrics), which also protects everything inside the app, and keeping Android's full-disk encryption enabled (it is on by default on modern devices).

Backups & Exports

Any backup or export features in HabitWin produce files that you control. They are created only when you ask, written only where you choose, and are never uploaded by the developer. If you copy an export to a cloud drive, that storage provider's policy applies to the copy you made. This user-initiated path is the only way your data can leave the device.

Standard Android device backups (if you have them enabled in system settings) are managed by Android and your device manufacturer under Google's terms, not by Prachi.

Data Retention & Deletion

Data is retained on your device only for as long as you choose to keep it — there is no server-side copy, so there is nothing the developer retains, and no retention schedule other than the one you set by keeping or deleting your own data.

Deleting your data is entirely in your hands, at any time and without asking anyone:

  • Delete individual habits, check-offs or journal entries inside the app whenever you like.
  • Clear the app's data from Android Settings → Apps → HabitWin → Storage, which wipes everything the app stored.
  • Uninstall the app — everything it stored in private storage is removed from the device along with it.
  • If you created a Google Drive backup, that encrypted copy lives in your own Google Drive: delete it from the app's backup settings or from your Google account's Drive settings. Local backup files you exported are ordinary files you can delete yourself. The developer holds no copy anywhere, so once you delete your data, deletion is complete and final.
  • Data processed by Google AdMob is held by Google under Google's privacy policy; you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Children's Privacy

HabitWin is not directed at children under 13, and Prachi does not knowingly collect data from children; no personal data reaches the developer from anyone. The app has no chat and no social features. It can show banner ads through Google AdMob — configured in line with Google's ad-content policies, and switchable off in Settings. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting the app's data or uninstalling it removes everything stored on the device.

Your Rights

Privacy laws around the world (such as the GDPR and CCPA) give you rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability and objection to processing. HabitWin satisfies these by design, because you are the only person who holds the data:

  • Access — open the app; everything it knows about you is visible there, on your device.
  • Correction — edit or update any entry directly in the app.
  • Deletion — delete entries in-app, clear the app's data, or uninstall (see "Data Retention & Deletion").
  • Portability / export — where the app offers export or report features, the files produced are yours, in ordinary formats, stored where you choose.
  • Nothing to object to — there is no profiling, no automated decision-making and no marketing to opt out of. If you still have a question about your rights, email support@elevatedev.co.in.

Optional Encrypted Backups

HabitWin can back up your data so you can move to a new phone without losing your progress — as an encrypted local file, or to Google Drive. The Drive backup is strictly opt-in: it is off by default, and nothing is ever uploaded until you explicitly enable it and sign in with your own Google account.

  • The local backup is a file encrypted with a passphrase you choose; without your passphrase it cannot be read, by us or anyone else. You decide where the file goes.
  • When you run a Google Drive backup, the app uploads an encrypted backup file to your own Google Drive. It is stored in your Google Drive, under your Google account — not on any server of ours. Prachi never sees, receives or holds a copy of it.
  • Data held in your Google Drive is governed by Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), like anything else you keep in Drive.
  • You can delete the backup at any time — remove it from the app's backup settings or disconnect the app from your Google account's Drive settings — and you can sign out to stop any future uploads.
  • If you never enable the Drive backup, the app never contacts Google Drive at all.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

HabitWin uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google, to show banner ads that support the app's development. Ads can be turned off in the app's Settings; while they are off, no ad requests are made — but whenever ads run, this section applies in full.

To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process data from your device, including:

  • The Android Advertising ID — a resettable, user-controllable identifier used for advertising.
  • Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, mobile network information and IP address.
  • Coarse (approximate) location derived from your IP address, where permitted. HabitWin itself does not request any location permission.
  • Ad-interaction data, such as which ads were shown and whether you viewed or tapped them — used for measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • Personalized vs non-personalized ads: ads may be personalized (selected by Google based on interests inferred from your activity across apps and sites) or non-personalized (based only on context, such as the current app and your approximate location). Non-personalized ads still use the Advertising ID for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • You are in control: you can turn ads off entirely in the app's Settings, and you can opt out of ad personalization, or reset or delete your Advertising ID, at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • How Google uses this data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), in Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and in the Google AdMob and Google Ads policies (https://support.google.com/admob).
  • AdMob is the only advertising or tracking SDK in HabitWin. There are no other third-party analytics or trackers, and your habit data — habits, check-offs, moods, journal notes — is never shared with AdMob or used to target ads.

A Note on Habit Data

Your routines — and how they are going — are personal. That is why HabitWin keeps all of it on your device: there is no account, no cloud database and no server of ours, so there is no copy of your habit journey on our side to be breached, sold or demanded from us. We could not hand over your data even if asked — we simply do not have it. If you choose a backup, it is encrypted, and the only copy outside your phone sits in your own Google Drive or in a file you control.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date, which is also the date the changes take effect. Material changes (for example, if a future version added an optional online feature) will be described here before that version ships. The fundamental promise will never change retroactively: data you stored under a no-collection policy will never be silently collected later.

No Warranty & Your Own Checks

This policy explains how HabitWin handles data. It is not a warranty about the app itself, and it does not make Prachi responsible for how you use it.

HabitWin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Prachi is not liable for any loss you may suffer through using it — including lost data, missed reminders, lost profits or decisions you make based on what the app shows you — to the maximum extent applicable law allows. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Please check the app's output before you act on it. HabitWin organises what you enter; it does not verify that what you entered is correct, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make. The full terms, including the complete limitation of liability, are at https://elevatedev.co.in/terms.
