Lagom: Daily Planner & Habits Privacy Policy
Lagom keeps your planner data — tasks, events, notes and habits — encrypted on your device: no account, no server, no analytics. The app shows banner ads via Google AdMob (removable with a one-time purchase or subscription) and offers an optional, opt-in backup to your own Google Drive.

Introduction
Lagom: Daily Planner & Habits ("Lagom") is a calm all-in-one daily planner for tasks, calendar, notes and habits. It is developed and maintained by Elevate Studios, an independent developer, who you can reach any time at support@elevatedev.co.in.
This privacy policy took effect on the "last updated" date shown above (July 19, 2026). It explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, how that data is used, and — just as importantly — what the app does not do.
The short version: your planner data — tasks, calendar events, notes, habits, projects and tags — is stored on your device, in an encrypted database, and is never sent to us. There is no account and no server operated by the developer. Lagom does, however, include optional features that use the internet: banner ads served by Google AdMob (which you can remove with a one-time purchase or subscription), and a strictly opt-in backup to your own Google Drive. The app therefore requires internet access for those features, and this policy explains exactly what each of them does.
Data We Collect
Lagom has no user accounts, no sign-in with the developer, no cloud database and no server operated by the developer, so Elevate Studios has no technical means to see, access or recover your planner data. Everything you create — tasks, calendar events, notes, habits, projects and tags — stays on your device, in an encrypted database.
Only two kinds of data ever leave your device, and both are described in full in their own sections below: (a) a backup file that you explicitly choose to upload to your own Google Drive (see "Optional Google Drive Backup"), and (b) technical advertising data that the Google AdMob SDK collects in order to serve and measure banner ads, for as long as you have not removed ads (see "Advertising (Google AdMob)").
Data We Access & Store on Your Device
To do its job, Lagom stores the following information locally, in the app's private storage on your device. This data stays on the device ONLY — it is never uploaded, transmitted, sold or shared:
- The tasks, calendar events, notes and habits you create, with their projects, tags, priorities, recurrence rules and completion history.
- Your ritual and Inbox state, reminder settings and in-app preferences (theme, language and similar).
- Local backup files you export, saved only where you choose — the app never uploads them.
- All app data lives in an encrypted on-device database (SQLCipher), with the key protected by your device's Android Keystore secure hardware.
Data Categories (Google Play Data Safety)
In the categories used by Google Play's Data Safety section, the information Lagom handles falls under:
- App activity & content you create (tasks, calendar events, notes, habits, projects, tags and preferences) — stored on-device only.
- Device or other IDs (the Android Advertising ID) and coarse location — processed by Google AdMob solely to serve and measure ads, and only while you have not removed ads, as described in the Advertising section.
- Your planner data (the first category) is stored on-device only and is never "collected" or "shared" with the developer in the Play Data Safety sense. The advertising category is collected and processed by Google AdMob only for advertising purposes and only while ads are shown, and a backup exists only if you choose to upload one to your own Google Drive.
How Your Data Is Used
The data above is used only inside the app, on your device, to provide the features you asked for. It is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, "improving our services" or any purpose beyond these:
- To plan your day — showing your tasks, events and habits together on the Today page and across agenda, day, week and month calendar views, entirely on your device.
- To parse natural-language capture into scheduled tasks and reminders, and to keep undated items in your Inbox.
- To track habits with monthly grace days, run the plan-your-day and shutdown rituals, and compute your day's progress — all on-device.
- To send the reminders you schedule, only if you enable them.
- To display an optional, read-only overlay of your device-calendar events alongside your plan, only if you turn it on.
Data Sharing & Selling
Elevate Studios does not share, sell, rent, trade or disclose your planner data to third parties — for advertising, analytics, "partners" or anything else. There is nothing to share: your planner data never reaches the developer in the first place, and it is never shared with the advertising SDK or used to target ads.
Information can leave Lagom in exactly three ways, all under your control or fully disclosed here: when you explicitly export or share something yourself (transferred by the app you share it to, under that app's policies); when you run the optional backup to your own Google Drive; and when the Google AdMob SDK processes advertising data as described in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section — which stops entirely once you remove ads. Nothing else is transmitted.
Third-Party Services
Lagom integrates exactly two third-party services, both from Google and both described in their own sections below: Google Drive (only if you enable the optional backup) and Google AdMob (banner ads, which you can remove with a purchase). There are no other third-party services — no analytics providers, no cloud databases and no other SDKs that receive data from the app.
In-app purchases, if any: if Lagom offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade (or any other in-app purchase), the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing, Google's own payment system. Elevate Studios never receives your card or payment details — Google Play only confirms to the app that a purchase succeeded. Google's privacy policy governs payment processing. There are no subscriptions, and your data is never behind a paywall.
If you install the app from Google Play, Google's own terms and privacy policy govern the store itself (downloads, payments and reviews), independently of this app.
Permissions & Why We Ask
Lagom may request the following Android permissions, and only for the reasons stated. Denying an optional permission never locks you out of the rest of the app:
- Notifications (optional) — to show the reminders you schedule. Asked only when you create your first reminder; you can use the app without notifications.
- Exact alarms (optional) — so a reminder you set for a specific time fires at that time, not whenever the system gets around to it. Used only for reminders you schedule yourself.
- Run at startup — to re-schedule your reminders after the device reboots so none are lost. No data is involved.
- Calendar — read-only (optional) — only if you enable the device-calendar overlay. Lagom reads your existing calendar events to show them alongside your plan, on-device only — it never writes to, copies elsewhere or transmits your calendar.
- Internet — used only for the two features described in this policy: uploading a backup to your own Google Drive when you ask, and requesting banner ads from Google AdMob (you can remove ads with a one-time purchase or subscription). Your planner data is never transmitted to the developer.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID) — used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads while ads are shown. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of personalised ads, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads — and removing ads stops it being used at all.
Analytics, Advertising & Tracking
Lagom contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting services that upload data, and no third-party trackers other than the single advertising SDK it discloses: Google AdMob, covered in detail in the "Advertising (Google AdMob)" section below. We do not profile you ourselves, and your planner data — your tasks, events, notes and habits — is never used for advertising or shared with the ad SDK.
You are in control of advertising: you can remove ads entirely with a one-time "remove ads" purchase or a monthly subscription (see "Purchases"). Once ads are removed, no ad requests are made and the Advertising ID is no longer used; while ads are shown, everything in the Advertising section applies in full.
Data Security
Your data is held in Lagom's private app storage in an encrypted on-device database, which Android also sandboxes from every other app on the device. Your planner data is never synced to any server of ours, so there is no developer-side copy to breach. If you enable the optional Google Drive backup, the backup file travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to your own Google Drive; the backup is encrypted at rest with an app-level key, but it is not end-to-end encrypted, so it is protected by your Google account rather than by a passphrase only you know. Advertising requests, while ads are shown, are likewise made over encrypted connections by Google's SDK.
Lagom additionally encrypts its entire database on-device with SQLCipher, with the key held in your device's Android Keystore secure hardware, so your planner data is protected on the device itself.
For an extra layer of protection we recommend using your device's screen lock (PIN, pattern or biometrics), which also protects everything inside the app, and keeping Android's full-disk encryption enabled (it is on by default on modern devices).
Backups & Exports
Any backup or export features in Lagom produce files that you control. They are created only when you ask, written only where you choose, and are never uploaded by the developer. If you copy an export to a cloud drive, that storage provider's policy applies to the copy you made. This user-initiated path is the only way your data can leave the device.
Standard Android device backups (if you have them enabled in system settings) are managed by Android and your device manufacturer under Google's terms, not by Elevate Studios.
Data Retention & Deletion
Data is retained on your device only for as long as you choose to keep it — there is no server-side copy, so there is nothing the developer retains, and no retention schedule other than the one you set by keeping or deleting your own data.
Deleting your data is entirely in your hands, at any time and without asking anyone:
- Delete individual tasks, events, notes or habits inside the app whenever you like, or empty the in-app trash to wipe them for good.
- Clear the app's data from Android Settings → Apps → Lagom → Storage, which wipes everything the app stored.
- Uninstall the app — everything it stored in private storage is removed from the device along with it.
- If you created a Google Drive backup, that copy lives in your own Google Drive: delete it from the app's backup settings, or disconnect the app and remove it from your Google account's Drive settings. The developer holds no copy anywhere, so once you delete your data, deletion is complete and final.
- Data processed by Google AdMob is held by Google under Google's privacy policy; you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Children's Privacy
Lagom is not directed at children under 13, and Elevate Studios does not knowingly collect data from children; no planner data reaches the developer from anyone. The app has no chat and no social features. It can show banner ads through Google AdMob — configured in line with Google's ad-content policies, and removable with a one-time purchase or subscription. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting the app's data or uninstalling it removes everything stored on the device.
Your Rights
Privacy laws around the world (such as the GDPR and CCPA) give you rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability and objection to processing. Lagom satisfies these by design, because you are the only person who holds the data:
- Access — open the app; everything it knows about you is visible there, on your device.
- Correction — edit or update any entry directly in the app.
- Deletion — delete entries in-app, clear the app's data, or uninstall (see "Data Retention & Deletion").
- Portability / export — where the app offers export or report features, the files produced are yours, in ordinary formats, stored where you choose.
- Nothing to object to — there is no profiling, no automated decision-making and no marketing to opt out of. If you still have a question about your rights, email support@elevatedev.co.in.
Optional Google Drive Backup
Lagom can back up your planner data to Google Drive so you can move to a new phone without losing your tasks, events, notes and habits. This feature is strictly opt-in: it is off by default, and nothing is ever uploaded until you explicitly enable it and sign in with your own Google account.
- When you run a backup, the app uploads a backup file to the hidden app-private folder (appDataFolder) of your own Google Drive. It is stored in your Google Drive, under your Google account — not on any server of ours. Elevate Studios never sees, receives or holds a copy of it.
- The backup is encrypted at rest with an app-level key, but it is not end-to-end encrypted: it is protected by your Google account rather than by a passphrase that only you hold. In other words, it is as private as your Google account, and we recommend protecting that account with a strong password and two-factor authentication.
- Data held in your Google Drive is governed by Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), like anything else you keep in Drive.
- You can delete the backup at any time — remove it from the app's backup settings, or disconnect the app and delete it from your Google account's Drive settings — and you can sign out to stop any future uploads.
- If you never enable the backup, the app never contacts Google Drive at all.
Purchases
Lagom is free to use, and every planner feature is free — nothing is behind a paywall. The only paid option is removing ads: you can buy a one-time "remove ads forever" upgrade, or a monthly subscription, whichever you prefer. Removing ads stops all ad requests and Advertising-ID use for your device.
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play Billing, Google's own payment system. Google — not us — processes your payment; Elevate Studios never receives or stores your card or payment details, and Google only confirms to the app that a purchase succeeded. Google's privacy policy governs payment processing. No planner data is shared as part of a purchase.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Lagom uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google, to show banner ads that support the app's development. You can remove ads with a one-time purchase or a subscription; once ads are removed, no ad requests are made — but whenever ads run, this section applies in full.
To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process data from your device, including:
- The Android Advertising ID — a resettable, user-controllable identifier used for advertising.
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, mobile network information and IP address.
- Coarse (approximate) location derived from your IP address, where permitted. Lagom itself does not request any location permission.
- Ad-interaction data, such as which ads were shown and whether you viewed or tapped them — used for measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention.
- Personalized vs non-personalized ads: ads may be personalized (selected by Google based on interests inferred from your activity across apps and sites) or non-personalized (based only on context, such as the current app and your approximate location). Non-personalized ads still use the Advertising ID for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
- You are in control: you can remove ads entirely with a purchase, and you can opt out of ad personalization, or reset or delete your Advertising ID, at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- How Google uses this data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), in Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and in the Google AdMob and Google Ads policies (https://support.google.com/admob).
- AdMob is the only advertising or tracking SDK in Lagom. There are no other third-party analytics or trackers, and your planner data — tasks, events, notes, habits — is never shared with AdMob or used to target ads.
A Note on Your Planner Data
Your plans, notes and habits are a candid record of your life. That is why Lagom keeps all of it on your device in an encrypted database: there is no account, no cloud database and no server of ours, so there is no copy of your planner on our side to be breached, sold or demanded from us. We could not hand over your data even if asked — we simply do not have it.
The optional device-calendar overlay is read-only and processed entirely on-device — your calendar is never written to, copied elsewhere or transmitted. If you choose the optional Google Drive backup, the only copy outside your phone sits in your own Google Drive, under your own account and control.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date, which is also the date the changes take effect. Material changes (for example, if a future version added an optional online feature) will be described here before that version ships. The fundamental promise will never change retroactively: data you stored under a no-collection policy will never be silently collected later.
No Warranty & Your Own Checks
This policy explains how Lagom handles data. It is not a warranty about the app itself, and it does not make Elevate Studios responsible for how you use it.
Lagom is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Elevate Studios is not liable for any loss you may suffer through using it — including lost data, missed reminders, lost profits or decisions you make based on what the app shows you — to the maximum extent applicable law allows. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please check the app's output before you act on it. Lagom organises what you enter; it does not verify that what you entered is correct, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make. The full terms, including the complete limitation of liability, are at https://elevatedev.co.in/terms.
